At The Gorgeous Garden Co. we provide experience and knowledge that helps you to create a beautiful garden full of plants that will thrive in your specific location. Understanding from the outset what will and won’t work in your garden can save time, money and disappointment. There are 3 different ways in which we can help you.
Our Services

Initial Consultation
A one hour site visit will inform us as to your site, soil and the scale of the project. We can also discuss any styles and planting preferences. At this point you can opt to continue to the design and planting service.

Design Service
We use the information from our initial consultation to draw up a scale design of your borders including images of the selected plants that we recommend (up to 2 alterations included). At this point you can opt to buy plants for the approved design yourself or employ us to select and deliver them for you for a separate fee.

Planting Service
We offer a full planting service for the designs that have been approved. Costs for this service are based on the quantities included in the scale plan.
Key Considerations
Site
Measuring and recording the location, orientation and sizes of planting areas breaks down the project into realistic proportions and planting possibilities. At this point it is important to consider any pre-existing hard landscaping surfaces as well as incorporating any new landscaping requirements into the scheme.
Species
Plants are the all important and exciting part of the design. Your choice of plants is informed by site and soil but simply selecting plants that you love isn’t always the answer. You might be surprised at how new colour schemes, textures and groupings can bring your space to life in a way you hadn’t considered.
Soil
Not all soil is created equal! Conditioning your soil and adding the correct nutrients according to each species requirements can help your new plants to thrive. Understanding from the outset what will and won’t work in your space can save endless disappointment, money and time.
Seasonality
A garden for all seasons is a thing of great beauty. Creating a space that allows for moments of joy all year round is complex but well worth the trouble. We can help you to understand the types of plants, forms and structures that can deliver a gorgeous garden no matter the time of year.
Sourcing
My links to local suppliers, nurseries and builders can help your scheme take place. I am happy to accompany you on your own trip to a nursery but equally happy to order and deliver from the plan that we have created and approved together.
